The Los Altos Hills Community Fire District has a Home Ignition Zone Assessment and Rebate program to help residents maintain defensible space around their property. The program involves getting a free Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) inspection and up to $3,000 in matching funds upon completing rebate-eligible defensible space improvements.
